Thrift stores are becoming increasingly popular places for people to find the necessities. Undoubtedly, it is a terrific method to save money, but it may also result in difficulties when all of the desirable things are rapidly snapped up.
If you shop at Goodwill, you’ve probably noticed that there haven’t been many interesting buys there in recent years. You would suppose that this is because more people are buying at Goodwill, but there is more to it.

This was laid out in a video by someone claiming to be a former Goodwill employee. They claim that there are other reasons why the good discounts are notably absent from the store, and Goodwill appears to be the culprit.
According to the former employee, “I used to work with Goodwill as a Drive Thru Ambassador about five or six years ago. A Drive-Thru Ambassador is in charge of collecting donations from cars and pricing them so they can be displayed on the floor.Part of his job entailed knowing how much things cost. His bosses instructed him that if he came across something worthwhile, he should report it to the manager. The management would then place it on their e-commerce store rather than on the shelves of the local store.

Apparently, Goodwill has an internet business that operates on an auction model, similar to eBay. The more expensive things are shipped to Goodwill headquarters since they will fetch a better price than if sold in a local store.
He continued with the statement: “A lot of times nowadays you can’t find really good items at Goodwill because they’re all being sent off.”In addition, they scan certain objects, such as video games and books. When scanning such things, they would identify the most valuable ones so they could be sold on the e-commerce store as well. He explains why you can’t find any good games or DVDs in stores nowadays.
