My husband and I are residing with our in-laws to save money. My MIL despises me and can’t wait for us to go. Yesterday was my birthday, and I was given a Tiffany bracelet as a gift. My mother-in-law grabbed the elegant box and opened it without saying anything.
When she saw the bracelet, she erupted, saying, “How dare he spend money like that while living in MY house?” “I have the right to this jewelry, not you!” She assumed the present came from my spouse.

Ironically, my husband only brought me a bunch of flowers for my birthday, but I understand that our focus is now saving. My mother gave me a Tiffany bracelet, which brightened my day. After I explained where the present came from, my mother-in-law refused to apologize, claiming she deserved the jewelry as payment for our stay.
Her eyes are filled with malice, which is both apparent and frightening. She hasn’t been very fond of my hubby lately either. I’m unsure how to handle the issue till my husband can provide financial support to go.
