High glitter does not always equal elegance. Though Swift has a track record of looking stunning in long gowns at the Grammys, things took a change at the 2024 ceremony. Swift took a risk that year, wearing a full-length white Schiaparelli gown with a bunched waist and a thigh-high slit. Swift’s attire was an intriguing decision, especially because she combined it with long, black opera gloves, black shoes, and many choker necklaces.

In some aspects, it appeared that she was attempting to make herself appear as if she had walked out of a black and white film, but in reality, she appeared to have just returned from a costume party.Unfortunately, the look disappointed many fans. Some thought the free braid looked too casual and undone for such a sophisticated garment.

Others thought the cluster of necklaces was too much for a highly flowing outfit. “It’s bad,” said one commenter on taylorswiftstyled. “Her hair appears unruly and probably should have been up, and the dress evokes early-aughts prom feelings. Too much. “Not flattering.” Another individual said, “I like the dress, but I don’t like the styling.” The hefty cloth was also problematic. “The dress looks like a bunch of extra sheets they didn’t know what to do with…” they wrote on it.
