Recently, an online article went viral about a neighborhood resource officer choosing to date a second-grade student to the daddy-daughter school dance. As a result, Van Buren school resource officer Nick Harvey and a little girl called Avey have formed a close friendship.

Fortunately, life had different plans for her.Harvey’s chief contacts his police and asks them to accompany the children without their parents. Harvey soon decides to go ahead of Avey. “I reached out to the mother, the last thing I wanted is to get rejected by a second-grader, and then the next day, I formally asked if she’d be my date to the daddy/daughter dance,” Harvey remembered.

Avey is excited, and the two decide to coordinate their clothing. They took countless pictures and even journeyed in a limousine to purchase pizza on their way to the dancing event.Avey elaborates: “It meant a lot because I got to go and see all my friends there, and then I got to go with them and have a lot of fun.” Harvey informed the interviewers that it was a night he will never forget since he made so many memories.

Harvey admits, “I felt a little embarrassed.””I can’t dance at all.” However, Avey, the sweet child, stated that the nicest part of the day was taking pictures and dancing together.Harvey admits, “I felt a little embarrassed.””I can’t dance at all.” However, Avey, the sweet child, stated that the nicest part of the day was taking pictures and dancing together.
