Keep this one plant in your home and forget about spiders, mice, and insects.

If you’re anything like me, you don’t enjoy bugs. However, I enjoy spending time outside, which is why I sought to find plants that repel bugs organically. I wanted to construct an incredible outdoor environment where I could enjoy the fresh air without fear of being eaten alive or having bugs swarm whatever I had just taken off the grill. The wonderful part is that there are numerous plants that you can either plant in your yard or arrange in planters around your deck or patio.

Basil: This herb plant helps repel houseflies and mosquitoes. Rosemary plants help repel fleas and ticks. Peppermint: These herbs can repel ants, spiders, and mosquitoes. Lavender not only smells great, but it also repels insects, fleas, moths, and mosquitos. Catnip: While not suitable for outside cats, these plants are effective mosquito repellents.

Marigolds: These flowers deter pests and mosquitoes. The best suggestion I can provide you is to figure out which bugs are bugging your outdoor space. Then, select the best plants to add into the space. It’s always a good idea to place the plants as close to your seating area as possible so that they can do their job and keep the bugs away.
