I Want To Buy My Own House, but I Don’t Want My Husband To Have Any Rights to It

I’m in a tricky situation with my husband and the house I want to buy, so I need your assistance. I met my hubby while I was a student. His family was pretty rich, and I was struggling to repay my school loans at the time. As a result, when we married, his parents asked that I sign a prenuptial agreement, which I fully agreed to. According to it, our finances and properties are fully distinct unless we decide otherwise.

We live at home with his parents. My husband has never wanted to leave or buy our own home, so I worked hard to accomplish it on my own. I was able to save approximately 35% of a down payment on a property in a relatively short period of time. I wanted to buy my own home that I could be proud of, and I eventually located the perfect one.

However, my spouse suddenly announced that he wants to co-own this house with me. He recommended we become equal owners and pay 50/50. But the truth is that he has numerous debts and no savings at all. His parents often cover his monthly expenditures, so I’m confident he won’t be able to pay for this half. Now he claims he won’t move with me if I don’t agree to the co-ownership, as it appears I do not trust him. How would you handle my situation? Thanks in advance for your assistance.
