Most people associate national anthem singers with well-known performers such as Gladys Knight, Demi Lovato, and Mickey Guyton. But Syracuse University demonstrated that star power is not limited by age. On December 17, 2018, three-year-old Drake Grillo made Carrier Dome history by taking the microphone and singing the National Anthem in front of a 6,000-person audience.

Most adults would have shivered at the prospect of singing in front of such a large crowd, but Drake seemed unaffected. Regardless of his age, he was eager to share his voice with the audience. His mother kneeled alongside him for comfort, but Drake Grillo did not give her a glance. He was too caught up in the emotive delivery of his patriotic song.

But the bright three-year-old had no trouble keeping all of the words straight. Drake sang each verse as loudly as he could with his endearing lisp, and the crowd couldn’t get enough. As the young child reached the final verse of the National Anthem, the entire crowd beaming with excitement. Whether you’re patriotic or not, this beautiful little one will make you grin.
