My son, 25, married Tina, a 23-year-old girl. Everything seemed OK at first. They even had a kid, but my DIL began to casually discuss his adultery as if it were nothing. He turned out to have cheated on her several times, and she had proof. I was really ashamed, to say the least, because that is not how I raised my son. Tina would forgive him, which surprised me, even though I told her she could divorce him if she chose.

My son eventually chose to seek for divorce after meeting another woman. Tina is now suffering with a one-year-old baby and must sustain herself on her own. My son called to invite us to his wedding. I asked him why he cheated on Tina. He chuckled and replied, “Well, Tina is great, but I deserve someone better.” I was shocked and outraged, and I instantly hung up.

On our son’s wedding day, I visited Tina’s residence. The was renting a very small and ancient room, the baby was wailing on the sofa, and she appeared exhausted. I helped her with domestic duties and cared for the baby. I told her to get some rest. I also brought some cookies and cake. My son called to ask where my husband and I were. I said, “I am at your ex-wife’s place. “You are a terrible husband, and I am ashamed of you.” My son became enraged and now refuses to speak to us. Perhaps I overreacted after all.
