And sometimes a story comes along that makes people marvel, chuckle, or wonder how such things could have happened.

Drinking goes bad. One such instance occurred in Turkey. According to reports, a man mistakenly joined his own search party after being reported missing. What began as a night of drinking escalated into a global saga of uncertainty and an inadvertent self-rescue mission.
According to Turkish news station NTV, Beyhan Mutlu, 50, had been drinking with friends in the region of Bursa. He disappeared into a nearby forest sometime during the evening. Concerned for his safety, his wife and friends phoned authorities and reported him missing. Local police promptly planned a search operation to comb the forested region.
Mutlu, ignorant that he was the person everyone was looking for, stumbled onto the very group looking for him and chose to help. He joined the volunteers and police, wandering through the forest for hours and calling out his own name, unaware that he was the target of the search.
Lost guy recognizes himself. The turmoil came to a sudden end when one of the searchers shouted “Beyhan Mutlu!” Mutlu responded without hesitation, “I am here.” At the time, a rescuer took him away to obtain his information and determine what was going on.
“Do not punish me too harshly, officer. According to NTV, Mutlu stated that his father will k3ill him. Though it is unclear whether any official action was taken against him, cops allegedly transported him home safely.
The story has since gone viral, garnering attention throughout the world as another example of real-life irony. Although the rescue was not what the search team had hoped for, everyone was relieved when it turned out to be a minor incident.
