A missing Utah teenager was found after stepping into a police station to identify herself, six weeks after going missing. Alisa Petrov, a 15-year-old from South Jordan, Utah, was identified as a “runaway” after being seen leaving her school in American Fork. She was reported missing on April 21, two days after her last message to 41-year-old Samuel Teancum Mitchell, with whom she had a number of se**xual encounters, according to an affidavit obtained by KSL TV.
Following her abduction, three males, including Mitchell, were probed, with Petrov writing to Mitchell, “I’M RUNNING AWAY. “Please do not contact me.” The message was sent on April 19th, 12:34 a.m. According to the New York Post, their conversations had gotten increasingly sexual, with talk of condoms, sex games, and promises to meet in person.

Messages were discovered on Petrov’s iPad, which she had left in her bedroom, and Mitchell was identified after police ran a reverse search of the phone number he gave to the youngster. According to the latest reports, Petrov has been found alive and well, having gone into the Colorado Springs Police Department – almost 500 miles from her home – on Sunday evening, six weeks after disappearing.
Prior to that, the 15-year-old was last seen on surveillance footage leaving a train platform in Provo. Her family offered a $20,000 reward for any information that led to her safe return. The South Jordan Police Department released a statement yesterday (June 2), stating that on June 1, 2025, a young female named Alisa Petrov contacted the Colorado Springs Police Department and identified herself.

“Alisa’s identity has been confirmed. Alisa is in good health and safe with Colorado officials. Authorities have yet to discover how Petrov got to the police station or whether she was detained against her will. Mitchell, 41, was arrested last Wednesday
