My ex-wife called me crying, telling me her son was ill. I mailed her some money. A few days later, she asked me to watch him for the weekend. I hesitated. I was busy, had plans with my partner, and honestly, I didn’t feel like returning to that position. I told her I could not.

But then she asked a question that took the breath out of me. She stated, “If you care about him, you should move in with us. Just for a while.” I couldn’t believe it. I’m currently dating someone else, and she has no idea I’ve been aiding my ex.

I genuinely care about the boy, but moving in? That’s too much. I said no, but now she won’t let me see the child. Is it wrong for me to draw a line?
