So, here’s the deal. My parents kicked me out the day I turned eighteen. No warning, simply “You’re an adult now, figure it out.” I couch-surfed, worked odd jobs, and somehow made it through. Let’s fast forward to now. This past year, I won some serious money (six figures, which I have already withdrawn). When my parents found out, they started calling me and mentioning “family,” “always believing in me,” and the need for financial assistance.

I’ve not responded to any messages. When they kicked me out, they made it obvious that I was no longer their concern, so why should their troubles become mine now? My aunt claims I’m being petty and should help them out a little because “they raised me for 18 years.” But, truthfully, I don’t feel like I owe them anything.
Am I overreacting by deciding to keep all of my profits and not giving them a penny?
