During a memorable audition on America’s Got Talent Season 17 in 2022, judge Sofia Vergara was visibly moved to tears by a powerful performance from singer-songwriter Wyn Starks. Starks, a Minneapolis native based in Nashville, took the AGT stage with his heartfelt original song “Who I Am,” a deeply personal tribute to his recently deceased twin brother.

Before performing, Starks shared with the judges and audience the emotional backstory of his song. He explained that the song not only reflects his journey of self-discovery but was also one of his twin brother’s favorites. Losing someone so close had been incredibly difficult for him, and performing on AGT was his way of honoring that bond and keeping his brother’s memory alive.
