“I’m Finally Happy:” Woman Who Couldn’t Kiss Her Husband Because She Grew A Beard After Giving Birth Finally Gets CuredSvetlana had always had hair on her face and chest, but her condition grew worse when she welcomed her son.
She realized her hair grew rapidly in those areas, and she began to feel embarrassed and self-conscious. It got so bad that she couldn’t go out without wearing a face mask, and this started to affect her relationship with her husband.
For years, she refused to let him kiss her because she thought she was disgusting. Unfortunately, her doctors were unable to assist her because they were unable to determine the reason of her illness. Svetlana was miserable for many years as a result of this.
Her spouse, fed up with her predicament, suggested she use the Russian TV show ‘I’m Ashamed of My Body’ to highlight and plead her plight. She told the show about her predicament, and they agreed to assist her.
Svetlana was subjected to several therapists and tests arranged by the show. She was under the care of a multidisciplinary team that looked for ways to help her.
A year after coming on the show, Svetlana received laser therapy and was treated for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). She was also on a specific type of steroid that helped solve the hormonal problem. The medical team advised her to lose more than 30lbs and live a healthy lifestyle, and Svetlana began to see changes.
While speaking about her recovery and transformation, Svetlana said: “I walk outdoors with my chin up after a dozen years of hiding my face. I’m finally happy. and my son feels if – we hug each other finally, and he can touch my face.”
It was explained by the medical team that Svetlana had Hirsutism, a common symptom of PCOS. Svetlana now enjoys her relationship with her husband and son and is free from the shame that burdened her all these years.
Kudos to the team of specialists that helped Svetlana achieve happiness with her body.
