The kind-hearted woman raised the neighbor’s son after mum failed to return from a shopping trip. Rosalinda was in her 20s when a neighbor stopped by and asked if she could watch her son while she went shopping for an hour – little did she know that the child’s mother was never coming back.

Most people would probably consider handing the child over to authorities, not everyone can just take in a child without warning, but for Rosalinda the situation was different. Because she had been told she would never have children, the young married woman saw this as a blessing in disguise.

Rosalinda raised the young boy as if he were her own until he was 18 years old. He eventually found his birth father and moved away to begin a new life with him, and Rosalinda went on to foster many children before adopting her daughter Lola in 1990, who is now 30 years old.

“That little boy stayed with me through my marriage that I’ve previously discussed until he was 18 when he found his father and left to start a new life,” she explained. Rosalinda decided to continue being a mother to others by fostering many children after her ‘adoptive’ son moved in with his father.

“So I decided to become a foster parent,” she explained. Adeola, my first foster child, was a young boy. I’ve fostered many children over the years, which led to the adoption of my daughter.”
