A youngster serves chicken soup to an elderly woman on a regular basis when she becomes ill, and one day he discovers a gang of four males on her doorway, attempting to enter her home. He becomes terrified and decides to rush to his mother for assistance, but the elderly lady opens the door and allows the men inside. Kyle, 8, sat on the curb, sobbing uncontrollably. He’d had a difficult day at school since he hadn’t completed his arithmetic assignment, and his instructor had chastised him in front of the whole class.
Kyle was never good at math and despised it. When he informed his mother, Amanda, that he didn’t comprehend anything in class, she offered to pay him a private tutor. Kyle, on the other hand, realized that committing to lessons would limit his time for playing in the evenings, so he assured her that he would practice hard on his own. But Kyle was now trapped. His grades were dropping, and he couldn’t answer even the most basic questions. He hadn’t told Amanda yet. If she found out, he’d have to attend tutorials, something he despised…
“It irritates me! I despise going to school! “He told himself this as tears streamed down his face. He was startled to hear a sweet voice. “Kyle? What’s the matter, honey?” Mrs. Bennet, Kyle’s next-door neighbor, appeared as Kyle glanced up. She was 80 years old, in a wheelchair, widowed, and without children. Kyle liked her since she was a kind lady, so he told her everything.
“I had a C on my math exam and was unable to complete my math assignment. The instructor was furious with me! If Mom finds out, she’ll be furious as well. I despise arithmetic “He grumbled, brushing away his tears. “But I don’t want to study late at night! I’d want to participate. My playing time would be reduced if you taught me arithmetic.” “Oh, if that’s the case, we’ll play and study arithmetic together. Why don’t we start today? If you don’t like it, we can stop whenever you want. Remember, there’s no harm in trying….”
“Really?” Kyle deliberated and decided to have Mrs. Bennet teach him arithmetic. In any case, he needed assistance, and if Mrs. Bennet could educate him in a delightful manner, there would be no damage. Mrs. Bennet and Kyle began spending two hours every day beneath the great oak tree in their neighborhood, studying the topic, from that day on. Mrs. Bennet taught Kyle math problems and assisted him with his homework, and he began to like the topic because, unlike at school, where he was taught in a monotonous textbook manner,
Mrs. Bennet had her own unique techniques to make the subject fascinating. “After all,” Kyle said two weeks later, “I don’t believe it’s such an awful topic after all.” “Mrs. Bennet, I wish you were my instructor. When I accomplished all of my homework, my math instructor said nothing positive about it. But she constantly chastises me when I don’t perform well!” Mrs. Bennet burst out laughing. “Kyle, I would have wanted to continue teaching as well. But with this wheelchair and my arthritis, things have been a bit difficult for me…”
Kyle went to the oak tree where he and Mrs. Bennett often met, but she wasn’t there. He assumed she was late, so he decided to wait for her. Kyle became concerned when she did not appear after an hour. He recalled Mrs. Bennet informing him about her poor health, so he went to see how she was. When Mrs. Bennet opened the door, Kyle discovered she had a temperature and a cold.
“I’m sorry, Kyle, but I won’t be able to teach you for a long,” she apologized. “My caregiver has also gone on leave, so I’ll be on my own for the next three days. I apologize, kid.”Kyle replied everything was OK and went home. However, he was concerned about Mrs. Bennet’s health. He informed Amanda, and she quickly made a chicken soup for Mrs. Bennet. “This will assist her, Kyle,” she remarked, offering him a flask full of soup.
“I have packed some sandwiches and crackers for her also. Let me know if she needs anything more, and deliver them securely to her.” “All right, mum,” Kyle said as he walked out the door to Mrs. Bennet’s house to bring the soup. The elderly woman was in tears upon receiving it and embraced Kyle. “Thank you kindly, son. Please extend my appreciation to your mum as well.” Kyle began delivering hot soup and supper to Mrs. Bennet every day after that.
When he went to her home one day, he observed four guys waiting on her threshold, attempting to enter by twisting the door knob. Kyle was terrified to see them since they were all tall and strong. “Mrs. Bennet, she’s in danger!” He was ready to sprint to his home to summon Amanda for assistance when the door opened and Mrs. Bennet came from inside. Kyle was perplexed as the guys embraced her one by one.
“Who are you?” he said as he approached them. “I assumed you were out to get Mrs. Bennet! You were outside attempting to unlock Mrs. Bennet’s door!” The men and Mrs. Bennet began to chuckle. “They’re past pupils of mine, Kyle. They’re all doing well today, operating their own companies, thanks to their solid math education! Did you attempt that stupid ploy to open my door again because I was taking my time to respond? Oh my goodness, these guys! Don’t worry, Kyle; they’ve come to see their sick instructor.”
The guys were startled to learn that Kyle and his mother were caring for their favorite instructor and that Kyle brought her soup on a regular basis. They appreciated the assistance and decided to reward him and Amanda by purchasing a stylish bike for him and a new automobile for Amanda. Amanda protested, claiming it was unnecessary, but the males pushed, so she gave in. Kyle, on the other hand, was overjoyed with his new bike.
He also told the guys about how Mrs. Bennet helped him with arithmetic and how she helped him accomplish his schoolwork quickly. “Did you know Mrs. Bennet loathed arithmetic as a child?” one of the guys joked. Kyle was taken aback. “Didn’t she?” “Yes,” the guy said. “She didn’t like the way it was taught in school, so when she became a teacher, she came up with her own method to make it more exciting. That’s why the kids adored her and math! I guess you like her as well, youngster!” Kyle nodded, knowing that the guys were correct. Mrs. Bennet’s enjoyable teaching style convinced him to abandon his distaste of the topic.
