True love is difficult to discover, but when you do, don’t let go. That is precisely what Fred Gilland did when he found his soulmate, Janice, his wife of many years. Before Janice died, the couple had been married for 51 years. Fred’s life was shattered when he lost his wife. He couldn’t bear the thought of spending his days apart from his sweetheart. But he promised she would never leave his side till the day he died. Fred still visits Janice’s cemetery every day, ten years after she died.

He spends a specific amount of time there, and he does so in the heat, the cold, and the rain. Nothing, not even his 78-year-old age, will keep this guy from honoring the memories of his loving late wife. He claims that each visit brings back fond memories of Janice, and that those memories are the most valuable thing to him. “I’ve admired her since I saw her; she was lovely,” Fred remarked, adding that his wife was a lady who always emphasized her family and being around him.

Fred misses her terribly, but his regular visits give him the fortitude he needs to go on. What Fred and Janice had was simply amazing. Many individuals who have seen Fred sitting on a chair close to her grave believe this dedication level is the most uncommon. On the other hand, Fred does it in the name of his love for Janice, which we think is beyond lovely.
