Because of their mother’s sacrifice, two children are living today. The mother went to great lengths to keep her children alive after the family was shipwrecked. The shipwrecked woman rescued her children by nursing them, but physicians think she perished as a consequence of it. Breastfeeding Saved the Children of a Shipwrecked Mother Humberto Chacon, the father of heroic shipwrecked mother Mariely Chacon, told reporters that his daughter’s family was on a “family outing to enjoy the children” when the worst occurred…
Mariely, her husband, Remis Clambor, their two children, their nanny, and a handful of their friends went on a pleasure cruise from Higuerote, Venezuela to Tortuga Island. However, the vessel they were aboard, Thor, was damaged by a massive wave, causing the hull to split. The damage produced an electrical short, and the boat capsized. The Venezuelan family, together with their nanny, Verónica Martinez, 25, and the four other passengers, were trapped for days and exposed to the elements.
Images posted on Twitter from Venezuela showed the family when they were discovered, floating towards the shore of La Orchila. However, it seems that Mariely Chacon, 40, did not give up despite the obviously impossible conditions. Knowing that her 6-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter would grow dehydrated, the shipwrecked mother began drinking her own pee and nursing the children to keep them hydrated.
The two youngsters survived after drifting for four days on a tiny life raft with their mother and were discovered cradling their mother’s dead corpse. The youngsters were transported to Caracas and treated at a clinic for dehydration, first-degree sunburns, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Martinez, the family’s nanny, was discovered inside an empty icebox and transferred to the hospital, where she was treated for dehydration, post-traumatic stress disorder, and lethargy. Martinez, according to medical specialists,
needed to be sedated owing to the damage to her system. Her sunburn, fever, low blood pressure, and fast pulse were all treated in the hospital. Martinez was rushed to an emergency room, according to a tweet from Venezuela. Reports went out throughout Venezuela, given that four of the passengers, Remis Clambro, Jose Marcano, Alejandro Osorio, and Vianney Dos Santos, were still missing. Officials were skeptical that the additional victims would ever be discovered owing to the passage of time and the immensity of the ocean.
Forensic physicians determined that the shipwrecked mother died as a result of nursing. Mariely’s organs collapsed as a result of electrolyte loss induced by heat stroke and dehydration. Officials also revealed that the shipwrecked woman had kept her children alive via nursing. According to an INEA official, “the mother who died kept her children alive by nursing them and drinking her own pee.” “She died three or four hours before the rescue from dehydration after going three days without drinking water.” Needless to say, the public was both devastated and encouraged by the mother’s gallant effort.
