Amy Buchan Kavelara uploaded a picture of her grandmother in the wedding gown she wore 63 years ago. And in no time, the touching image was melting hearts all over the Internet! Amy Buchan Kavelara has a close relationship with her grandma, Ruth. So, when Ruth needed to move into an assisted living facility, Amy was ready to help. Moving a loved one into a retirement home may be a difficult experience. There are so many stuff and memories to look through.
And, while assisting Ruth in packing, Amy and her mother discovered a very treasured memory! Amy’s grandmother was photographed in her wedding gown on the day she married the love of her life, Jack, in 1953. And when Amy and her mother were digging about in the attic, they discovered the lovely gown stowed away. Ruth and Jack’s love was intense. Ruth also suffered greatly when Jack died in 2000. Holding the garment from that beloved picture inspired the family. They had Ruth try it on, only to discover that it still fit great!
Ruth’s daughter took a fresh photograph of grandmother in her wedding gown while clutching the 1953 photograph. And what a beautiful sight that was. Amy decided to post the touching snapshot on social media. And people from all around exclaimed over the motivating image! Amy Buchan Kavelara posted on Facebook, “My grandmother Ruth remained married to my grandpa Jack his whole life till he died in 2000.” “She thinks about him every day.
They shared a love that was timeless. People should understand that this kind of love is genuine and well worth the wait.” While Amy’s original article is many years old, the romantic image is ageless and continues to soften hearts to this day. Finding love like Ruth and Jack’s in this world is certainly a blessing! “Every good and true thing is given to us from heaven, coming from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change or any shade made by turning.” James 1:17
