The generosity of three young guys showed to an elderly woman at a restaurant has gone viral on social media. Jamario Howard and his buddies Jamychol and Tae were visiting a BBQ restaurant in Oxford, Alabama, when they saw an old lady by herself. “My initial reaction was, geez, I’d hate to have to eat alone,” he said. He approached her and asked if he may sit with her. She accepted and began a chat with Howard, telling him that she had lost her husband and that their 60th anniversary was the next day.

“I immediately expressed my sympathies and invited her to join us for dinner,” Howard recalled. “She was ecstatic to do so.” Howard shared a photo of them together on Facebook, which went viral with over 44,000 shares. “The idea of all of this is to always be polite and pleasant to others.” You never know what they are dealing with. “This lady transformed my perspective on life and how I see other people,” he said in a post accompanying the photo.

The woman’s name, according to Howard, is Eleanor, and the four of them spoke about “ordinary life, exchanging things about each other” while eating BBQ and fish. “Our efforts were honestly motivated by the kindness of our hearts,” Howard said. Small acts of kindness like this have a big influence on people and spread warmth all throughout.
