Parents gave their 2 daughters container homes so they can have their own space and privacy. Take a look inside

When their children are little, it seems that their parents can make any room work, whether it’s a studio unit or an apartment. However, as the years pass and the children grow older, your little cottage will remain just that. Unfortunately, it may become a major living dilemma when your space is unable to accommodate adults, teenagers, and all of their valuable possessions.

This was Matt and Linda’s predicament in Henderson, Nevada, when they realized their teenage daughters, Ashley and Maddie, wanted their own space and independence. The couple used to reside just across the street from one other, and neither property could suit them and their three children. So, after looking for the right house, Matt and Linda decided to buy a fixer-upper with a large backyard. There was enough space in the rear for two container houses.

Matt and Linda began sketching blueprints and sought for a contractor to assist them in building two practical, ecological, and recyclable container houses in their backyard. Their goal was realized with the assistance of Alternative Living Spaces, a Las Vegas design business that specialized in container houses. They quickly disconnected electricity, water, and sewage from the main house and placed the container dwellings.

Their container houses were the ideal option for their large family. Aside from providing more living space, they may also serve as a source of income after the children reach the age of majority and opt to leave home. In reality, when Ashley left to begin college, Maddie’s buddy Braedon moved in and leased the house. He needed his own space, even if just for a little while.

Maddie, a student at UNLV, chose to remain because she likes to be near her father, Matt. Her college plans apparently did not include living on campus. She simply wants to be around her father as much as possible as a daddy’s daughter. Being apart from him, according to Maddie, was something she couldn’t bear. She may remain near to her family but yet enjoying her solitude in her gorgeous container house, exactly as in college dormitories or university accommodation.

Matt like their container houses’ multi-generational layout. They are now inhabited by their children. Matt and Linda’s elderly parents may move in once they are self-sufficient. The kitchenette is also constructed with plenty of storage, including bins and open shelves. There is a built-in oven and fridge, as well as additional bathroom storage. Barn sliding doors reduce space while also adding a decorative element to the room.
