Ellen Degeneres is the queen of surprise fans, strangers, and celebrities alike. Usually in the shape of a large check or a crew member leaping out at someone. Ellen is always two steps ahead of everyone, whether she’s pulling big pranks on the guest of honor or testing the honesty of her followers in the talk show gift shop. Of course, everything is always in good fun and powered by comedy, while her audience sits back and enjoys being a part of the action.

Ellen took crew member Amy out into the streets to test the goodwill of strangers in a program dubbed “Cash for Kindness.” Ellen, who is quite pregnant, sets Amy up with a filled U-haul and some broken boxes to see if any good samaritans will stop and help a mom out.

Amy and Ellen were having no success after several failed efforts to convince even one person to stop and aid the pregnant lady who actually looked like she was ready to explode. Drivers went out of their way to avoid Amy and her strewn-about jumble of shattered boxes and stuff. But all hope was not gone. Amy ultimately drew the notice and concern of three strangers after creating a ruckus in the street for some time.
