Cops fulfill an elderly lady’s dying wish to visit her son 1300 miles away, but they only find a Destroyed house.

A couple of officers responded to a call about an elderly woman collapsing and discovered their old teacher, who had an unexpected wish. They decided to assist and traveled a long distance, only to discover a heartbreaking situation. Their journey, however, was not in vain. Officer Markson pulled into the parking lot in front of the bus station and noticed that an ambulance had arrived ahead of them. When he and his partner, Officer Sanders, received a call about an elderly woman who had collapsed, they decided to investigate.

They both got out of their squad car and saw paramedics tending to an elderly lady who was conscious and talking. “Are you Mrs. Logan?” Officer Sanders questioned, his eyes wide. Officer Markson frowned, realizing he, too, recognized the older woman. “Oh my goodness, Mrs. Logan. Are you okay? “As they got closer to the situation, he asked, echoing his partner. The older woman squinted and looked up, but she recognized them.

“Julian! Christina! Should I start calling you ‘Officers’ now? I haven’t seen you since high school graduation. What exactly are you doing here? “She spoke quickly. “After the 911 call, we were asked to come check things out. Is everything okay? What exactly are you doing in this bus terminal?” Officer Sanders sat down and gently placed her hand on the elderly woman’s shoulders. Julian and Christina were classmates many years ago, and Mrs. Logan was their math teacher. Despite her strictness, the woman was always lovely.

Julian had learned that she had retired and was living in a quiet part of their Minnesota town. “So, I was hoping to go to Florida. I must see my son “Mrs. Logan said, her brow furrowed. “Peter? Why? Is he all right?” Christina pondered, her hand still resting on the woman’s shoulder. “I’m not sure. He hasn’t contacted me in months. That is not uncommon. He doesn’t care much for me, but he usually answers when I call every now and then “Mrs. Logan went on, shaking her head and looking down.

“Well, I’m sure we could call some people to do a wellness check or something,” Julian suggested, but the older lady shrugged. “I’d like to go as well. I need to see how my son is doing, and I also… I don’t think I have much time left in this world. I was looking forward to seeing the sea again after a long time “The older lady spoke slowly. Christina nodded as the paramedic stood up. “She isn’t required to accompany us, but she is frail.

I would not recommend allowing her to travel by bus alone, especially to Florida “the first responder said before leaving. “You heard him, Mrs. Logan. You must return home and rest “Julian spoke softly. “I can’t. I have to leave! My son and the sea are calling out to me. Something is going on, but I’m not sure what it is. Will you please assist me?” Mrs. Logan pleaded. Julian and Christina exchanged glances.

They couldn’t exactly compel her to return home and remain there. They had no idea what they could do to help her until Christina had an idea. “We went to check on her for a reason. We must assist her. Although it is technically not our job, being a cop is all about helping people, right?” She pleaded with her partner. Julian exhaled a sigh. “That’s not quite correct. But I’d like to assist her as well. Let’s get started.”

Their captain was furious, but Julian and Christina decided to take some of their paid time off and drive Mrs. Logan to Florida themselves a few days later. They knew it would be difficult because it was 1300 miles away. But their teacher had a wish, possibly her last, and they were going to grant it. The road was long and winding, and gradually, some of the cold of Minnesota gave way to the heat of the southern states.

They had a lot more fun than they anticipated. Mrs. Logan had been friendly, but until the trip, the officers didn’t know much about her. After four days on the road, they arrived in Florida. It would have been quicker if Julian and Christina hadn’t stopped at motels along the way to rest Mrs. Logan. They had no idea how shocked she would be when they arrived at her son’s house. “What exactly happened here?” Mrs. Logan exhaled, wide-eyed at the scene in front of her.

“Are you certain this is Peter’s residence, Mrs. Logan?” Christina inquired, perplexed and alarmed. Julian looked around, his brow furrowed in thought. Peter’s house was completely destroyed. Something had occurred. The houses next to it were in rough shape, but he could tell they had been patched up. “I’ll inquire around. Please wait for me “Julian said as he approached their neighbors’ houses. “Mrs. Logan, don’t be concerned.

We’ll find out what’s going on. I’m even happier that we came here with you now “Christina said this while protectively hugging the elderly woman close to her body. Julian was able to speak with a neighbor, but the news was not good. He returned to the teacher and his partner, wetting his lips and pondering what he would say. Mrs. Logan sobbed on Christina’s shoulder for a long time, and the cop wouldn’t let her go.

The area had been hit by a hurricane, and Peter refused to leave. He was killed when a tree branch fell through his roof. The neighbors raised enough money to pay for Peter’s burial, but they had no idea he had family, so they kept it a secret. They told Julian where he was buried so that they could pay him a visit. “I apologize, my boy. I apologize for not being the mother you required. I should’ve gone above and beyond.

I should’ve called sooner, and I should’ve offered my house when you were in the middle of a hurricane. I forgot how dangerous those things could be!” Mrs. Logan sobbed on top of her son’s simple tombstone, bemoaning her many regrets. Christina and Julian gave the grieving mother enough time to say her final goodbyes. “I’ve already stated this. But I’m glad we’ve arrived “Julian nodded as Christina told him.

Mrs. Logan was ready to leave after a few hours and asked them to take her to the nearest beach. The officers would never dare to say no to her. They were lulled to sleep by the ocean’s waves. They were all exhausted from the four-day journey and the day’s heartbreaking news. Mrs. Logan, on the other hand, removed her shoes, sat in the sand, and let the waves touch her feet. Christina and Julian quickly followed. The elderly lady sighed.

“I enjoy going to the beach. I didn’t go there nearly enough “She made a remark. “Guys, don’t make that mistake. Visit the ocean more frequently.” “We will, Mrs. Logan,” Christina promised. They all fell silent as they watched the sun set over the horizon. Mrs. Logan died shortly after they returned to Minnesota. Christina and Julian handled her funeral and burial arrangements because she had no other family.

Some of their police colleagues came to their aid, but Julian and Christina were scarred by their final days with their old teacher. They’d never forget her or what she said… “Let’s go to the beach more often,” Julian said after the burial. “Yes,” she said solemnly.
