When it comes to diamond engagement rings, I believe we can all agree that it is critical to take care of them and keep them safe.

That being said, they are one of the simplest things to lose, and it only takes a moment of carelessness for them to vanish forever. I’ll be the first to admit that retrieving a diamond ring from the toilet is one of the more difficult tasks. What are you going to do if it isn’t in the bowl? According to WFLA, this Florida couple decided to investigate further, even going so far as to pump the septic tank to look for it.

It was, however, nowhere to be found. It took 21 years for the toilet in the house to be replaced, and when it was, they discovered the missing ring. It appears to have become lodged in a toilet area, and after 21 years, it was finally able to return to the woman’s finger. When the ring’s owner learned that the diamond had been found again, she admitted to having “kind of an ugly cry.”

“Oh my gosh, this is my ring,” she exclaimed, according to WFLA. This is my engagement ring.’ “I’m wiping my eyes, and my mascara is all over the place.” There’s a lesson in here somewhere for all of us, but I’m not sure what it is.
