Couple adopts unwanted baby. Girl’s first word to mom at airport leaves everyone in tears

Lucy, who has Down syndrome, was orphaned for the first six years of her life. Fortunately, this situation did not last indefinitely. Lucy was adopted from China and placed in a loving home in the United States. When she finally arrived, her new family was nervous because they didn’t know how their little girl would react or deal with her new surroundings, especially after living in an orphanage since birth.

Brent and Audrey Shuk, Lucy’s adoptive parents, were nervous before meeting the girl. The couple already had five biological children, but they felt there was room in their hearts for another child. Lucy first meets them at the airport in Houston, Texas, as she arrives in her new country and family. When she arrives, she looks around nervously, and when she finally meets her new parents, she is overcome with emotion.

Audrey rushes to meet her new daughter, whose emotions have also taken over. But then Lucy says something that brings everyone to tears. It was difficult for the little girl to say anything, but she clearly said, “MOM” at that moment. Everyone was moved by the story, and the spouses were both confused and happy.
