When we say that our military men and women make significant sacrifices while serving their country and being deployed in distant lands, we mean it. Imagine missing out on important events like birthdays, holidays, and celebrations, as well as missing out on seeing your child grow up. Unfortunately, a large number of children are “deprived” of the opportunity to be around their military mother or father, but they understand that there is a lot at stake, and that is our country’s freedom and the safety of its citizens.
The reunions are the best part of deployment. We’ve seen many touching reunions between parents and their children over the years, and the following is likely one of the best. Jordan, 24, and his wife Sophie Hatt, 22, decided to marry despite the fact that Jordan would be away for an extended period of time. Sophie became pregnant three months after the wedding and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Lily.
However, when Lily turned 10 days old, Jordan was deployed. He had to say goodbye to his tiny bundle of joy, but he knew duty called, and he answered it. The father returned to Florida almost a year later, in May 2021. Thousands of people were moved by Sophie’s video. “He felt bad leaving me alone to raise our first child, and I was dreading being without him and doing it on my own,” she explained. Fortunately, they are now together and can see their girl grow into a lady.
