This Woman Fought for 6 Years to Adopt the Boy She Met at an Orphanage. How they look now?

Sometimes people find meaning in their lives in the most unexpected places, as in the case of a 23-year-old girl who began a legal battle to adopt a boy from another country. And now, 6 years later, that dream has finally come true. When Emily was looking for meaning in her life, she traveled to Uganda to do social work in an orphanage, and she found it. There she encountered a small child whose mother had died and who had no one to care for him. Adam is the name of the little boy who has won the heart of this English woman.

This girl from Worcestershire, England, never expected to adopt a child. Adoption was never something she considered, but the child stole her heart. “I knew it would be difficult to say goodbye, but I wasn’t considering adopting him; I just didn’t see it as a possibility,” Emily explained. The girl met Adam when he was five days old, but she had to return to England in 2015 after her budget ran out. She worked as a teacher in her home country for two years, saving money to return to Uganda and adopt Adam.

Emily finds work as an international teacher in the African country and re-meets Adam. The girl rents a house and temporarily lives with the boy, and it is during this time that she meets Josh, a 33-year-old security guard who eventually becomes her partner. This girl was determined to adopt Adam, and in 2018, she finally got a child custody hearing, but things aren’t that simple.

“Something is always wrong. Things happen. Sometimes documents are lost, sometimes the court is overturned. “The adoption process in Uganda took three years, and we were there for four and a half years before we returned,” Emily explained. This girl went viral on social media, prompting her to launch a fundraising campaign to cover the costs of the procedure. The story moved many people, and they decided to collaborate.

It took nearly four and a half years for Emily to obtain Adam’s visa and passport in order to bring him back to the UK in November 2020. The matter was delayed again due to the pandemic, but Emily is now fighting another legal battle from her home country to legalize foreign child adoption on British territory. She had to deal with many difficulties and bureaucratic issues, but in the boy’s eyes, the woman finds meaning in her life.

Nothing is more important to her than a mother being next to the baby she gave birth to when she was only a few days old, but she is willing to change the rhythm of her life for this. Emily and Adam are currently in England. However, the young woman is separated from her partner, Josh, who has been abandoned in Uganda. Emily, on the other hand, is confident that they will be able to spend time together as a family one day. Meanwhile, if you enjoyed Emily and Adam’s story, please share it on Facebook with your friends and family.
