Baby Born Without a Nose Looks ‘Amazing’ at 10 Years Old After Surgery – Her Mom Always Thought She Was ‘Perfect’

Tessa Evans is a ten-year-old girl who was born with arhinia, a rare facial anomaly. She was born without a nose because it did not develop in the womb. Tessa’s parents, Grainne and Nathan, stated that their pregnancy was normal with no signs of abnormalities. So, Gianne admitted that her first look at her baby was a complete shock, and she immediately worried about whether or not her newborn daughter would be healthy or even survive.

Tessa’s condition is so uncommon that she was one of 500 million children born with it at the time she was born. Nonetheless, they had no idea that Tessa would have doctors working around the clock to give her the perfect nose.Tessa was born on February 14, 2013, Valentine’s Day. Gianna was overjoyed to be given a beautiful daughter on this day of love.

Gianna explained that her daughter’s nose did not develop in the womb, so her brain does not have a smell-recognition section.Nonetheless, she sees her daughter as the most beautiful girl, and her condition does not diminish her because she will always be extraordinary. However, Tessa’s first few weeks were challenging. She was in intensive care for five weeks before undergoing surgery to create a second airway via a tracheostomy tube to allow her to eat and sleep properly.

Tessa began her first round of nose implants when she was two years old. Giana and Nathan admitted to crying the night before the surgery. Despite knowing that the surgery would benefit Tessa in the long run, Gianna stated, “We thought she was so beautiful and so perfect; to let a surgeon do anything to change her was just heartbreaking.”Gianna was terrified of many things.

She was concerned about Tessa’s surgery being the first of its kind and that she would spend the night without food for the first time since her birth. Gianna was fortunately accommodated by Sick Children’s Trust in London and was only a phone call away, which put her at ease.Gianna brought Tessa’s younger brother with her to the second surgery, which made her feel better. The Sick Children’s Trust once again accommodated the family.

Their daughter is not only funny, but she has also been brave throughout her surgeries and gave her mother the most beautiful reaction when she saw her new nose. Tessa’s vivacious energy and sense of humour. Tessa joked during an interview that the benefit of not having a nose is that she can’t smell all the bad smells, even though she’d like a good whiff of the good scents.Tessa’s parents have always told her that she was beautiful whether she had a nose or not.

Tessa has persevered despite the difficulties of the transplant procedure. Her mother expressed hope that one of the implants would remain and not cause further health problems.Unfortunately, this occurred, and Tessa was forced to have one of the implants removed. The 10-year-old, on the other hand, brings her bright energy to her doctor’s appointments and consistently fills the room with laughter.

Tessa is also a very smart girl who understands that her body syndrome will not prevent her from doing anything she wants. Because her implants will need to be replaced every few years until she is a teenager, the 10-year-old will still require a few surgeries as she grows older. After the permanent one is in place, a tattoo artist will shade and draw nostrils on her implant.
