The pilot has the best response to the woman who ran to be the first one off the plane when it lands.

A pilot responded brilliantly to a woman who had gone to the front of the plane in an attempt to be the first person to exit after the flight landed. The pilot’s reaction was so well received that he later received a standing ovation. We understand that if you’re flying in economy class, no one wants to be crammed into a tin can for any longer than necessary. However, you are not supposed to get up until the plane has stopped moving and the seat belt sign has been turned off.

When a passenger decided to be the first one off the plane, the pilot only had to make a logical but amusing announcement. The pilot’s amusement was visible as he called her out in the best way possible. This was posted on Reddit a year ago, and someone else on the flight stated that they were all on board when this woman from the back “unbuckled, and darted to the front of the planet to get off first” shortly after they landed. Please, some decorum?

“She didn’t make any eye contact and felt she was special,” a Reddit user said. I’m referring to walking from the last seat on the plane down the entire row and past first class. Basically, I’m standing in front of the small kitchen. The seat belt sign was still lit, and we were still rolling down the runway. The flight crew had requested that she return to her seat until we arrived at the gate, but she was not responding.”

The user claimed that the trip had depleted everyone’s energy and that they simply didn’t have the energy to call her out. But that’s when the official announcement came. “All of a sudden, the captain announced that we had a special guest on board, and that he would be coming out to greet us after we arrived at the gate.” Karen stood there awkwardly for about 15-20 minutes while we did the whole rolling into the gate and whatever planes do when they land thing.”

Needless to say, everyone was curious as to what the pilot was talking about. “Eventually, the captain came out and asked the lady to please move back a little to get to his special guest, then a little more,” the Redditor continued. Then a bit more. Everyone was watching and looking around to see who it could be as he moved from row to row looking for a specific person.”

The pilot, it turns out, kept urging the woman to take a few steps back- until she reached the seat she had left. He grabbed the intercom and announced, “Ladies and gentlemen, I’d like to announce our special guest sitting in seat 42C.” Let us give her a standing ovation.” The user mentioned that the entire plane burst out laughing at this point, and they added, “I loved every moment of that.”

Some Reddit users defended this poor passenger, with one claiming that some people are just bad at flying. “I had to do a brief 35-minute connecting flight last weekend, and even though it was a smooth trip with no turbulence, etc., I still ended up incredibly nauseous (to the point of sweating) because I get such bad motion sickness.”

It’s great that it’s ‘literally nothing’ to you, but not everyone is as relaxed about flying as you are – and that’s fine.” Others, however, did not give that woman an inch. “I f**king despise these people,” one said. “I have a Tshirt that says, ‘Stop standing up when the plane lands.'” said another. People either like it or don’t.”
