The mother who gave the child up for adoption recorded a video for him as a keepsake

She had no intention of ever publishing it, but she decided to bring attention to the issue of open adoption in this way. She made the most difficult decision of her life two years ago. Hannah Mongi was 18 at the time, and she became pregnant after dating a guy for two months. It appeared to both of them that marriage was premature, but Hannah desired to have a child and become a mother.

As a result, the couple decided that open adoption was the best option for them. Open adoption is when a child knows who his adoptive parents are and who are biological parents from childhood. “It would provide our child with a stable family while also allowing us to be a part of his life,” Hannah says. She first heard the baby’s heartbeat at 12 weeks of pregnancy and made an audio recording for the baby’s father.

Caden Whitney, 20, died suddenly two days later, leaving Hannah alone. “I was depressed and had given up on the idea of adopting.” Kaden’s baby was the only thing I had left of him.” Hannah was at a loss for what to do next. She attempted to communicate with family and friends, but it only resulted in conflict. The girl suddenly realized, as if something clicked, that her son should grow up in another family.

She was soon introduced to Emily and Brad Marsh. They had already had an open adoption experience and desired to adopt a second child in the same manner. “They claimed that their children’s biological mothers are family angels.” “They were better than I could have imagined, and I had very high expectations of those who would care for my child,” Hannah says.

She agreed to let them attend the birth in exchange for 48 hours alone with the newborn.Hannah gave birth to a son, Taggart, on March 19, 2016. She knew that these two days would be her only opportunity to have him all to herself. “I was his mother, and it was the most amazing thing in the world.” The countdown began as soon as I heard him cry.” The girl asked the nurses to leave her alone with the child and decided to make a video for him as a keepsake, hoping that he would watch it someday.

Only the baby is visible in the video; Hannah is hidden behind the scenes. She tells Taggart how much she loves him and tells him about meeting his father through tears. She explains that the decision to adopt was not easy for her, and the only thing that helped her was thinking about how much better it would be for him. Hannah still pays visits to Taggart two years later.

They live 10 minutes apart, and she visits the Marsh family once a week to feel like a part of it.”Emily and I have a complete understanding; we are both Taggart’s mothers, and we are both confident in our roles.” She’s the one who raises and educates him, and I’m the one who carried him in her womb. “He’ll always remember that I gave him life and a loving family,” Hannah is certain.

Hannah thought her story might inspire other young girls to agree to open adoption, so she made a video for her son and posted it on the Internet. It has already received approximately 2.5 million views.
