A young child who adores the puppy his family fostered wrote a touching letter to prospective adoptive homes. Roman Duncan’s family fostered Maggie, a beautiful puppy from North Shore Animal League America. Maggie was too young to be adopted at the time, so the Duncans took care of her in their Louisiana home.Every day, Roman and his family taught Maggie how to play catch and go to the potty outside, and they lavished her with love and cuddles.
Roman’s mother explained that they were simply fostering the dog until she could be adopted by another family, but Roman was heartbroken to see her go after caring for her for the first several months. Roman wrote a loving letter about Maggie to ensure that she was adopted and that her new family was aware of her existence.”Dear Maggie, new famaley,” reads the letter.
“Maggie is really adorable. Maggie enjoys playing fech. Maggie has been potty-trained. Maggie is the most amazing dog ever. She adores kisses. She adores other canines. Maggie is our absolute favorite. We hope you enjoy hr as much as we do.”When Maggie returned to North Shore Animal League America to be adopted, rescue team manager Karla Agostinello discovered Roman’s wonderful note, which moved her.
“I was so touched,” she remarked. “It’s difficult [for fosters] to load the animals onto the truck.” So I get a lot of letters from grownups, but not so many from youngsters. So that’s why it struck me so deeply.”Maggie is doing well and has since been adopted by another caring family, who gratefully accepted Roman’s note, which has helped them get to know their puppy a little more.
