Mom was forced to place two of the triplet girls for adoption; years later, the sisters meet their carbon copy at a mall.

Kathleen became pregnant at the age of 35 in 1991. She found out she was pregnant with triplets when she was seven months along. Kathleen, who is deaf, was working for the US Postal Service at the time. Kathleen was also married to Lee, a long-distance truck driver with two adult children from a previous marriage. Before meeting Kathleen, the 58-year-old had also had a vasectomy.Because of Lee’s medical procedure, the couple agreed to employ a sperm donor. Kathleen admitted that she persuaded her husband to let them have a kid, and he agreed hesitantly.

To have their child, the couple performed intrauterine insemination (IUI). IUI is a medical technique that involves the use of fertility medicine, and there is always the risk of multiples with the procedure. It was no surprise that Kathleen was expecting triplets because of this potential. Kathleen and her husband were concerned when they found out they were expecting triplets. Kathleen and Lee, according to her daughter Rikki, were not financially equipped to rear triplets.

Rikki further stated that Julianne and Kendall felt no biological attraction to Kathleen. Tina was relieved that this did not occur because she was scared her girls would scream, Mom, and flee towards their biological mother. Lee was also getting older and wouldn’t be able to rear three children. As a result, Kathleen and Lee decided to place two of their daughters for adoption. Rikki claimed that her mother received a sign indicating that Kendall and Julianne would be raised together.

Rikki remembered her mother telling her during the scan that she was pregnant triplets, Kendall and Rikki were in breech, but Julianne’s head was down. All of the doctors told Kathleen that they couldn’t move the two babies’ positions. Kathleen was astonished, however, when she discovered that Kendall had twisted and her head was down, just like Julianne’s. Kathleen made her decision at that point.

Kendall and Julianne, she claimed, were destined to be together, therefore she chose to place them for adoption.Kathleen returned home with Rikki and placed Julianne and Kendall for adoption with their new parents, Ken and Tina Scavo. Ken and Tina had been high school sweethearts who had suffered with infertility for six years with little success. Two of their adoption attempts were likewise unsuccessful.

Kathleen subsequently reflected that she knew in her heart that two of her triplets belonged with Ken and Tina. She remembered holding each of them and wondering if she was making a mistake by putting them up for adoption, but she was now glad she did. Nonetheless, she recognized that the entire event was well above anything she had ever done or will ever experience in her entire life. Kathleen paid visits to her two girls for a year after the adoption because it was an open adoption.

They lost contact once the adoption was completed.Rikki emphasized that birth mothers may legally reclaim their children in the past. Birth mothers stealing their children from adoptive parents was widely reported in the media. Tina and Ken were so concerned after seeing these films that they changed the adoption from open to closed. Kathleen didn’t help matters by writing to Tina and Ken, frequently expressing her regret and shame about giving up her daughters for adoption.

Kathleen seemed to be indicating in these letters that if she could relive the experience, she would make a different decision. Tina stated that she and her husband had waited for six and a half years to have children and were terrified of Kathleen recovering them. As a result, the girls stayed separated until they reconnected in their pre-teen years. The two families lived only 40 minutes apart in Colorado. Ken and Tina, on the other hand, kept Rikki’s presence a secret from Kendall and Julianne until they were eight years old.

Rikki, on the other hand, knew everything about her sisters since her mother had informed her. Rikki admitted that her childhood was lonely because both of her parents worked full-time, and she felt quite isolated growing up on a farm. Rikki’s father died of cancer when she was ten years old, and Kendall stated that they would move closer to family in Missouri.

Rikki reached out to Ken and Tina around this time and requested if she might see her sisters; surprisingly, they accepted. The three girls and their parents met in a Colorado mall. “They were pretty unfazed,” Rikki remembered of the meeting. We were all nervous before we arrived, but once there, it was just like meeting up with an old friend. They felt very comfortable.”Kendall, now a graphic artist in Austin, was taken aback when she discovered Rikki and Julianne were identical twins.

She was dissatisfied because she didn’t resemble her sisters. Julianne compared herself to Rikki, saying it was like gazing in the mirror. Rikki and Julianne had identical voices and demeanors. They sat with one foot up and crossed, and they moved their hands similarly when chatting. Rikki stated that the meeting gave her mother a sense of relief. Rikki further stated that Julianne and Kendall felt no biological attraction to Kathleen.

Tina was relieved that this did not occur because she was scared her girls would scream, Mom, and flee towards their biological mother.Rikki eventually moved to Missouri, and the three girls maintained in touch through letter writing. Rikki spent two weeks each summer with her sisters. Rikki stated that Ken and Tina’s families were quite wealthy, and she and her mother struggled paycheck to paycheck, but she had no bitterness for the excellent life her sisters led.

Rikki, on the other hand, was delighted to stay with her sisters since she was introduced to new things throughout her time there, and the summers were like her haven since she endured a lot of bullying in high school. The sisters still spend time together as teenagers and adults. The triplets live in Austin, Texas, and present the podcast “Luke, Who Is Your Father.” They got tattoos of their initials to indicate how much they loved one other.

The gals get together for birthday meals and have glyph tattoos on their arms.Rikki admitted that she sometimes feels left out because Kendall and Julianne grew up together in the same house. She went on to say that she understands they would never have the bond they may have had if they had grown up together, but she is grateful they have each other now. Tina’s husband died of cancer in 2009, but she says she formed a great friendship with Kathleen.

She went on to say that when they met in 2022, Kathleen was an incredible human. Tina stated that she would not have been a mother if Kathleen had not been there. The three sisters are also content with one another. Rikki and Julianne went two years without speaking to each other. Julianne, who works in sales, says Rikki is still discovering that a sister’s bond is unshakable and that unconditional love exists. They’re all on good terms now; they go on group dates with their partners and have frequent game evenings.

This is the story of a guy who died, leaving behind 17-month-old twins. A year later, these twins received a message from him. The twins will remember their father for years because of the message.
