Ann Margret’s Kicky 1961 Screen Test Is As Good As It Gets

Ann Margret was known for her energy and sexiness as one of the most influential and well-liked young stars of the 1960s. She was the sweetheart of the decade for many young dudes (and perhaps the object of some jealousy by more than a few women) in contrast to male leads like Elvis Presley and Dick Van Dyke.

However, two years before the premiere of Bye Bye Birdie, see her in a screen test for the film State Fair in 1961, singing the song “Bill Bailey.” She demonstrates her ability to sing and dance as she hams it up for the camera in this rare film!
