The press saw Keith Urban at Sydney Airport last night. Many people think he might be the best actor at Toowoomba’s “It’s A Bloke Thing” luncheon, he is very much looking forward to it. Later that day, he landed at Wellcamp Airport with 500 excited people. Each had paid $1 to attend this one-of-a-kind event to bring attention to prostate cancer and raise money for study into it.
Urban cares a lot about this cause because his father, Robert, died of the disease in December 2015, and another family member has also been impacted. A famous country singer-songwriter named Keith Urban recently went back to his home country of Australia to help the It’s a Bloke Thing Foundation. Since it began seven years ago, this charity event has raised a lot of money for study and awareness about prostate cancer.
This great project got more than $1.53 million in gifts from kind people in the area in 2017. It is now thought to be one of the best midday fundraising events in the country. Keith kindly gave his time and skills for free, which helped the lunchtime fundraiser reach a new high of $2,024,000.00. His kind acts that weren’t intended to benefit himself made the event a huge success and raised a lot of money for the good cause.
