Easy Crockpot Turtles

One of my favorite memories of Christmas as a child is making cookie trays with my best friend and her mom. There was something sweet on every inch of the bar while Christmas music played on the radio. Each year, my friend and I were given one or two recipes to follow and then had to decorate the sugar cookies. In spite of their name, “cookie trays,” they were not just for cookies.

People really liked these Crockpot Turtles, and I can’t wait to give you the recipe! These treats are very easy to make because the crockpot does most of the work. Just put the chocolate chips and nut bark in the crock and turn the heat down to low. Wait until everything melts. You can use any nuts you like instead of pecans. Add them in and cook for a few more minutes. After that, it’s time to put everything together.

Two muffin tins should be lined with paper cups. In the middle of each cup, put a caramel square or rolo candy. Spread that smooth chocolate-nut mix all over the caramel with a spoon. The hard part is now: we have to wait until they set!

Putting the trays in the fridge will speed this up. Take off the paper and taste one of the turtles when it’s nice and hard. We hope your family enjoys this Christmas treat as much as we do.
