When The Camera Zooms Out We Understand Why Her Photo Is Being Shared By Millions

But when it was Aimee’s turn, everything went wrong.Aimee was ready to go off a cliff when the wire snapped and she fell. That day, she had a leg amputated. Unfortunately, the tragedy did not end when Aimee was taken to the hospital. It was far worse than the physicians had predicted. Because flesh-eating microorganisms had infiltrated the wound, the 24-year-old was in great danger.

Necrotizing fasciitis, often known as flesh-eating disease, was caused by a major incision on her leg, which became infected with the bacteria Aeromonas hydrophila after she fell.After 11 surgery and extensive rehabilitation, Aimee was successful and adapted, but she lost both hands and legs as a result.Aimee gradually adapted to her new life over the period of four years following the accident, and now this image of the warrior is sweeping social media and inspiring many.

Aimee is on the beach in a bikini, proudly showing off her scars and amputations.”It has taken me a long time to become comfortable with and accept my new body,” she wrote. We are ALL formed with defects, and there is so much beauty in them. Scars and skin grafting add to the character! It’s not about what you have; it’s about what you do with what you have.
