Allman grew up in a rough neighborhood where drugs and drink were common. When he was young, his parents got a split, and he didn’t see his father very often because he was addicted and had problems with the law.
Because she had a job and a love life, his mother often left him with maids or family members. In an interview with ET in 2014, Allman let loose and talked about his friendship with Cher. He was very upset when his mother sent him to a private school when he was only seven years old.He said, “When you go to boarding school at 7 years old, it’s kind of hard to feel like you’re not being shunned.”

Allman would buy drugs with his friends in Harlem when he was only 11 years old. “At the time,” he told ET, “it seemed strange.” As his folks did, Allman started playing music when he was very young. He and some friends from school got together and made the band Deadsy, which was a mix of metal, rock, and synth-pop. It was Allman who said that he and Cher didn’t talk for a few years after he started the band.
As the band played with well-known artists, Allman became friends with well-known musicians and actors. At that point in time, he tried drugs like heroin, painkillers, and booze and became dependent on them.After that, he had a lot of problems with drugs and went to rehab a lot of times. Allman used to have Lyme disease, which made him very tired all the time and caused him to be depressed and anxious for years. He thinks he got the disease from swimming in a river in 2005.
He started to feel sick in 2007 and went to several doctors, but none of them could figure out what was wrong. He said Cher thought his sickness was made up and didn’t help him as much as she should have. Allman chose to get help in Germany because he was angry and had given up hope. He took antibiotics, supplements, and herbal remedies.He had to change what he ate, how he lived, and how he thought.
He also had to deal with being alone because he felt like his parents didn’t love him at that time. It didn’t work with the traditional medicine, but he did find a doctor who could help him get better. In Germany, he went on a blind date with Mariangela King. They spent time together moving around Europe before going back to California. In December 2013, he ran away with King without telling or asking Cher. After a few months, Allman said that he decided to leave because his mother didn’t call to congratulate them on their engagement.
He stated, “I wasn’t going to wait for anyone’s approval and congratulations, just like I’ve never waited for any of that my whole life.” Another thing Allman said was that it hurt him that Cher didn’t ask them to her house for Christmas after they got married. But Cher still cares about Allman, even though they don’t get along. In December 2023, she did something very bad to keep him from hurting himself.
She asked for Allman, who is 47 years old, to be placed under her care because she said he is too sick to handle his money. The trust that Allman’s late father set up lets him get cash from time to time. But because he has a history of mental illness and drug abuse, there is a worry that he might use these funds to buy drugs.
