We’ve been married for more than five years. We got married after her breast cancer treatment was over. This is also our first Christmas together as a married couple. My sixteen-year-old daughter doesn’t always like her stepmother, but she can usually handle being around her.In the past, my wife has been very accepting and kind, telling me that my daughter is just trying to fit in as a normal teenager. But I think she’s gotten completely out of hand, especially since she hasn’t been punished for her actions.

My daughter shocked us all by choosing to spend Christmas with us instead of her mom, who she says went to see her future stepdad’s family a few towns over. This brings us all a lot of stress. My wife loved having my kid stay with us. Even though my daughter was talking on the phone, she took care of everything while I helped her out here and there. After I said hello to my in-laws, we had a great day together.

Even though my wife looked like she was upset, Christmas dinner went well. She wouldn’t tell me what was wrong until I told her I could. Afterward, she opened the Christmas present from my daughter and found a bra inside. It was in the kitchen that my wife had a crying fit. I was mad, so I called my daughter and asked her about the gift. I told her it was meant to make fun of her stepmom’s illness and make her look bad, but she said she didn’t do anything wrong.

At first, she tried to get out of my plan to clean up after the guests left by saying she would. But then she called her stepbrother to come get her and take her to her mom’s house. At the door, I took her stepbrother away from her and told her to start cleaning up right away. She lost it and started yelling about how rude it was that the bra made her wife feel bad and how awful it was that I punished her on Christmas.

In between her fits of rage, I made sure she cleaned everything, even though my wife thought there was a lot. She asked me to take my daughter to her mom’s house, but I wouldn’t go until the punishment was over. After calling her stepbrother again, my daughter finally left.

After that, she called her mom, who scolded me on social media for ruining her Christmas. Our daughter’s actions caused a fight, and she took sides, calling me mean and a robot driven by my wife, even though she begged me not to think about it. My ex-in-laws are now involved because of her, and they have been very critical of what I’ve done.
