We’ve all seen photographs on the internet that made us pause and look twice. Optical illusions, examples of eye-catching wedding cakes or woodwork sculptures, and possibly even photographs that appear too amazing to be true. The rise of the internet, and social media in particular, has made it possible for anybody to share photographs and movies around the world with the press of a mouse.

It means that when something becomes popular for one reason or another, it can spread rapidly. One beachgoer in Mexico discovered this when she shared a confusing video of what appears to be a strange creature in the sand. According to accounts, Brend Glez, the woman who shot the video in question, was enjoying a day at the beach in Mexico when she had a heart-stopping experience.

A few yards away, something dark, wet, and hairy appeared to be staring right at her, raised up on crooked arms that gave it an extraterrestrial appearance. Needless to say, the video below is enough to make anyone consider the possibilities. It was plenty for Brend. She shared his video on TikTok, and we can only imagine how many people were drawn in by sheer curiosity. It currently has approximately 30 million views!

Despite the scary appearance of the creature featured in Brend’s film, it proved to be nothing to worry about. The mysterious animal crawling through the sand was actually…We know, right?
