A woman had her stepdaughter and her family live with her and her husband. However, the two women battled to get along until one incident forced one of them to pack their belongings.A woman spoke out on Reddit about her family situation, explaining that she and her husband married when his daughter Trudi was 22, and she is now 36. The Original Poster (OP) has two children, aged 18 and 20, who are both attending college.

Trudi’s parents had been divorced for six years when she met her husband, but her relationship with her stepdaughter was strained from the start. The Redditor understood and did not expect Trudi to like her because she had her own mother and was a competent adult living alone. However, due to unanticipated circumstances, the two women ended themselves living together.

Trudi and her husband began experiencing financial difficulties, prompting them to move in with the OP and her husband. The Redditor added that they lived in a popular tourist region, so instead of selling her former flat, she used it for short-term rentals. However, Trudi and her family needed assistance, so they decided that she would move into the vacant apartment after the holidays.

However, living with Trudi was not the finest experience for the OP. She disliked the fact that she did not tidy up after herself or her children. The Redditor noticed Trudi’s spouse making extra effort to keep the house clean, even when he was fatigued from working long hours.

The Redditor stated that she discussed the difficulties with her spouse and spoke with Trudi and her children, but nothing changed. “My son-in-law is the only person who attempts. Trudi stated that I live in her father’s house, thus I cannot tell her what to do. “My husband did not back me up,” the OP stated.

The OP had had enough of the back and forth with her stepdaughter, so she left the house and moved into her apartment. She didn’t want Trudi to live in her flat anymore after seeing how she handled her property. This infuriated everyone, including her husband. Only her son-in-law understood the OP’s frustration. Her stepdaughter threatened to sue the OP because they had already signed a lease.

However, a Redditor predicted that she would lose the battle before it began because Trudi had failed to pay the deposit required by the agreement.After a week in the flat, the OP fell in love with the peace and quiet, as well as the clean environment. Her husband would pay her a couple visits per week, but he still urged for them to stick to their original agreement.
