When was the last time you tried anything you were terrified of? Getting out of your comfort zone and doing something scary every day is a healthy habit to develop. Life is too brief to stay secure and inside the boundaries of what seems comfortable. You have to switch things up every now and then, no matter what age you are. And, guess what? It’s never too late to test your limits and learn something new about yourself.
This 80-year-old grandmother is living her best life, exploring new activities and enjoying every moment of it. Grandma decided to do something daring today, most likely at the request of her grandchild!Grandma and grandpa were at the waterpark with their granddaughter on a hot summer day when the youngest member of the group had an idea. Rather than simply dipping her toes in the pool or wading in waist-deep to cool off, she and her grandmother ascended to the top of the water slide, where there is only one way down!
Grandma is seated on the loading dock, ready to go after a brief pep talk. But not before she’s given a GoPro to record all of the action. Her granddaughter prepares her as she sits down before taking off – without hands! She starts shrieking “Weeeeee!” and falls down quickly. She is one with the rushing water, and her excitement is obvious on her face. It is contagious. Her excitement and happiness are palpable, along with a hint of anxiety. However, she handles herself nicely! I don’t think I would be able to; I’m terrified!
Everything is captured on camera, which is an excellent complement to this thrilling experience. She cheers the entire time, not wasting a moment with worry or second thoughts. As she nears the conclusion, she begins to exclaim, “Here I…” but gets a mouthful of water and drowns. She’s a little soggy for a while before exclaiming, “Oh God, it was fun!”
