1. Complaining about whatever you do. Jealous neighbors are threatened by your achievements, and as a result, they will never agree with whatever you say or do. Now, if you are the type of neighbor who never cleans up after their dog or blasts music so loudly that it can be heard from miles away, we understand; you are a lousy neighbor, and the other neighbors will undoubtedly complain about you.

However, if you are not doing anything like this and they are still complaining about you, it could be a strong indication that you have envious neighbors. Why would they pick holes in you if nothing was wrong? They appear to be upset by whatever you do. They dislike the sound your car makes when you start it. Does your dog bark? Unfortunately, they dislike this as well. And so on. You get the point.

It’s as if they’re seeking for an excuse to be cruel to you. 2. They shame you publicly. If you observe that they regularly insult you while pretending to be your pals, you may have some envious neighbors. When people envy you, they may begin to criticize everything you do. Worse, they may enjoy criticizing you in front of others. If you ever accomplished something and your neighbor, whom you consider a friend, began publically humiliating you in front of other residents, we have some bad news: they may not be your buddy.

Jealous neighbors could use this to make themselves appear better than you. If they believe you are a threat, they may intimidate and shame you to make themselves feel better. 3. They emulate you. When dealing with envious neighbors, if they begin to imitate you, it may signal that they see you as a danger and want to be more like you. Now, going back to the first theory, it’s not that they dislike you. They want to be you, but they must do something to take your position.

And occasionally they may begin to emulate everything you do. Do you own a new pool? Surprise! They’ve recently started building a pool in their yard, and they keep telling you how much superior it will be than yours. 4. They intentionally give you incorrect advise. Your jealous neighbors’ worst nightmare is witnessing your success. So, given this, why would they aid you if they could simply sabotage you? If you ever asked a neighbor for advice and they looked eager to help, but their advise turned out to be the worst advice you’ve ever received, you may have made a mistake.

But if this keeps happening, your neighbor may have something to say to you. A jealous person will often go to great lengths to prevent you from succeeding. They do not want you to obtain what you desire, and they will do everything they can to prevent you from reaching your objectives. While having envious neighbors is not ideal, you may recognize the warning signals and take precautions to avoid interacting with them.

5. They are thrilled with your failures. Jealous neighbors will probably not tell you outright that they are delighted because you failed, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t expressing it in more subtle ways. There are numerous ways to celebrate your failure. Perhaps every time you speak with them, they bring up that one occasion when things didn’t work out for you. More than that, perhaps they love discussing such topics in front of others.

Remember that time you got those new sprinklers but placed them incorrectly and managed to floor your entire yard? When that happened, your next-door neighbor appeared to be in a great mood.
