Jennifer Lopez married Ben Affleck in 2022, nearly 20 years after their initial breakup. In an unexpected turn of events, the pair got tattoos to honor their love and devotion to each other. Continue reading for feedback on the tattoos.Jennifer Lopez stated last year that she had gotten a tattoo to mark her love for Ben Affleck. The tattoo has resurfaced as a topic of discussion after Lopez modeled for a brand that highlighted her tattoo.
Lopez, 54, shared on Valentine’s Day last year how she and Affleck celebrated their first Valentine’s Day as a married couple. The duo reportedly got complementing tattoos. Lopez tweeted several images of herself and Affleck. In the first photo, you can plainly see her tattooed ribs because she is wearing a crop top to show off her healing ink.
The tattoo was an infinity symbol with the names ‘Jennifer’ and ‘Ben’ inscribed in cursive. There is also an arrow in the center of the symbol, which rests on Lopez’s rib cage. She also included a photo of Affleck’s new tattoo in the same sequence of photos. One of the actor’s tattoos had arrows crossing another. The letter ‘J’ was drawn on top of the junction of the tattoos, while ‘B’ was written on the bottom.
The article also featured cute photos of the couple on boats and enjoying each other’s company in general. She also provided some vintage photos of the couple from decades ago, when they were initially dating. In the caption of the post, she wrote, “Happy Valentine’s Day my love .” She added various hashtags to express her thoughts, including ‘commitment is sexy’ and two others that said ‘this is us then’ and ‘this is us now’ to demonstrate how far they had come.
While the post received many positive responses, other people thought the tattoos were a little over the top. One person said, “They will divorce in the future,” and another said, “Her ink is terrible. “It will blur and fade with time.” Another disgruntled user said, “cheap ass tattoo for some billionaires.”Lopez, the brand ambassador for lingerie brand Intimissi, appeared in the advertisement for the brand’s ‘Silky Intimates’ collection, where her tattoo of her beloved spouse was prominently displayed.
The couple married in Las Vegas shortly before midnight on July 16. Only a few months after they announced their engagement. The elopement was not planned. In reality, the couple was planning an expensive wedding. In a recent interview, Lopez said, “We were planning to get married in August in Savannah, the family was going to be there, everyone’s going to be there and it was so stressful.”
“A month before, and I don’t know if you guys know this, but 20 years ago we were supposed to get married,” she said, alluding to the couple’s well-known 2002 engagement. “I heard that, I read that,” Kimmel replied, joining in on the humor. “It kind of all fell apart back then and this time, I absolutely had a little PTSD and so I was like, ‘Is this happening?'” said Lopez.
“We were so happy, and of course it was happening, but I just felt like the wedding was so stressful and one day Ben just says, ‘F— it, let’s just go to Vegas and get married tonight.'” “I was just like, ‘This is crazy, what are we doing?'” She went on to add that Affleck had everything under control and promised her that he was “going to have everything setup.”
“So then you get on a Spirit Airlines flight,” Kimmel joked, causing Lopez to laugh. “It was the best day of our lives,” Lopez remarked about her shotgun wedding.
