Elton John thanks his fans for ’52 years of pure joy’ as he closes his touring career.

Many of The Rocket Man’s followers were disappointed to learn that the “Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour” had ended. According to his website, Sir Elton John’s magnificent performance on June 8th, 2023, in the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, was the singer’s final tour appearance. The tour was scheduled to conclude in 2021, however it was postponed due to the pandemics.

Although this appears to be the end of an enormously rich and important music career, Sir Elton John has hinted that he may appear again in some manner in the future.Sir Elton provided the world with wonderful music and amazing shows over the course of his fifty-year career. According to his website, his latest tour’s shows were seen by over 6 million people worldwide.

John decided to retire from touring to spend more time with his husband David Furnish and their two sons, Elijah and Zachary. “We had children and had changed our lives and in 2015, we sat down with their school schedule and we said I’m going to miss too much of this,” the singer from Your Song told Cooper. As expected, the final tour date was a very emotional occasion filled with many emotions. It marked the end of one of the music industry’s most successful careers.

On Monday, Sir Elton posted on Instagram: “When we set off on my final tour in 2018, I couldn’t have foreseen in my wildest dreams the twists and turns and the highs and lows this tour – and the whole world – would have experienced in the next 5 years.”My fans have been with me every step of the way. You’ve remained with me, supported me, been patient, and attended every last show.”

Saturday night was fantastic. I’m still trying to digest everything, and I doubt it will sink in for a while that I’m finally done touring. “I can’t tell you how much I’m going to miss you all and how much your support has humbled me – it will stay with me forever.” His final tour presentation in Sweden featured four stunning costumes. The 77-year-old addressed the crowd on the night, saying, “You have no idea how much that means to me,” referring to his first performance in Sweden in 1971, more than 50 years ago.

“I’ve had an unbelievable career, beyond words. “How fortunate am I to be able to play music for 52 years?” John told the audience as he closed his show with “Your Song” and “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.” “But, you know, without you, I wouldn’t be sitting here talking to you. You bought the singles, albums, CDs, and cassettes, but more importantly, you purchased concert tickets, and you know how much I like performing live.” As his final show ended, Sir Elton told his fans that they would always be in his “head, heart, and soul,” and that he would “never be touring again.”
