People are startled when Halle Berry, 57, posts a picture of herself in her ‘birthday suit’.

I can only image how much pressure most celebs are under. Criticism of one’s work is unavoidable, and at times may even be acceptable. Obviously, no artist is going to create something that everyone loves every time, and entertainers are going to have poor nights every now and then. While fans voicing such ideas is a natural part of being a high-profile figure, I believe we can all agree that in this day and age, we want to be above personal assaults or trolling online.

Unfortunately, we are not, and the internet has done an excellent job of acting as a megaphone in a town square with enough space for millions. Not only do celebrities face the risk of seeing dissatisfied fans in their daily lives, but they must also deal with a flood of comments if they decide to let people in by publishing on their social media platforms.

Halle Berry was reminded of how nasty the internet can be over the weekend after posting a stunning naked photo of herself. On Saturday, Halle Berry shattered the internet by posting a selfie of herself standing on a balcony, drinking wine, and wearing nothing. The 56-year-old Oscar-winning actress captioned the photo, “I do what I wanna do.”

While many of the comments were nice (people cheered Berry on), there were also some unpleasant ones. One commenter took great offense to Berry’s nude photo, writing: “Imagine being in your 50s and still uploading nudes for attention in menopause when you could be relaxing with the grandkids. “Aging with dignity is no longer an option.”

Given Berry’s long history as an A-lister, one could be forgiven for assuming she’d simply ignore her critics, treating them with the disrespect they deserve. However, that is not the material from which the Catwoman star is cut. No, the Hollywood star responded in a way that her fans thought humorous. The “Monster’s Ball” actress reposted the post with her own statement, “Did you guys know the heart of a shrimp is located in its head?”

“As someone roughly your age.. keep living your best life and sharing whatever the heck you want when you want,” a user on Twitter wrote. A different user wrote: “Imagine getting mad because a beautiful woman is proud of her body, couldn’t be me.” Actress Audra McDonald commented, “You won the internet today with this clap back.” I did actually win the internet. Unsurprisingly, Berry’s reaction to the troll received significantly more love than the original insult.
