On the first day of my new employment, I wore a sweater and slacks. I don’t wear bras. At my prior employment, I never wore a bra, and it wasn’t an issue. I despise bras; they are uncomfortable and unneeded.
During my shift, two people approached me and told me that I was dressed inappropriately and should wear a bra. Because this is my first employment, I had no idea who they were. Plus, I’m wearing a sweatshirt, so you can’t see anything. One woman complained about my clothes and said she could see the outline of my boobs. I have enormous boobs, yet I think what I’m wearing is perfectly normal.
On my second day of work, I’m also not wearing a bra, but rather a T-shirt and a jacket. Despite the fact that I am dressed even more modestly than yesterday, two more persons make identical remarks.
One of them is my supervisor’s secretary, so I know things are becoming serious. I defended myself by claiming that there is no dress code at the office and that everyone is free to wear whatever they choose. She stated that there is still some unstated decorum to be maintained. The contour of my boobs was noticed again.I didn’t wear a bra once over my previous two years at work. I frequently wore sweaters, T-shirts, or blouses with a jacket. Even though I have enormous breasts, I do not consider them improper or problematic.
Am I mistaken here?
