1. Ignore your dream. Ladies, your boyfriend should never make you choose between your dreams and him. There should always be a common foundation to work from. Would you be satisfied in a relationship that requires you to give up your hard-earned dreams? If he loves you, he will recognize that your aspirations and career are just as essential as his.

2. Modify your values. Moral ideals and beliefs play an important role in shaping our identity and personality. Do not try to modify your morals simply because your man wants you to. Even if you don’t share the same values, he should always respect you and not change them. This is about religion and beliefs, as well as moral principles. Such things cannot and should never be changed only for the sake of pleasing others!

3. Changing Your Look Subtle adjustments, such as clothing and styling, are permissible. However, if your partner wants you to have surgery to change a certain aspect of your appearance, never consent to it. He’d better admire your natural attractiveness and not try to change it. Just because he dislikes the shape of your nose or thinks your ears are too sharp should not be used to justify surgery.

4. Give up your own space. Never give up your personal space and the time you should spend with your loved one (family and friends) because your man wants you to. Try to split it and find a balance. Just because you are in a relationship does not imply you do not need anyone else but him. And he should understand and respect this.

5. Forgetting who you are. You should not try to be something you are not. Never show that you are less intelligent than him in order to enhance his ego or make him pleased. Men prefer independent women, therefore appearing ignorant will not help at all. You should also keep your preferences and dislikes for him constant. These characteristics distinguish you from others. So, don’t sacrifice your originality and identity for a man. At least not when forced to do so!

6. Giving over the reins. No matter how much you love him, never allow him to rule you. Decisions should always be mutual. He should never make the final call on what you should and shouldn’t do. Always consult with him, but make your selection with your own lifestyle and preferences in mind.
