My wife and I went to an auction in Paris, Kentucky the other week, and one of the first displays we saw was the breeding bulls. We stepped up to the first pen and there was a notice affixed that said, ‘THIS BULL MATED 50 TIMES LAST YEAR’ My wife prodded me in the ribs, laughed, and said, ‘He mated 50 times last year, that’s practically once a week.’

We moved to the second pen, which had a sign affixed that proclaimed, ‘THIS BULL MATED 150 TIMES LAST YEAR’ My wife gave me a healthy jab and exclaimed, “Wow, that’s more than twice a week!” You can learn a lot from him. We moved to the third pen, which had a sign affixed that read, in capital letters, ‘THIS BULL MATED 365 TIMES LAST YEAR’.
My wife was so delighted that her elbow nearly fractured my ribs when she said, ‘That’s once a day. You could actually learn something from this one. I looked at her and said: ‘Go over and ask him if he was always with the same old cow.
