A man and woman had been married for more than 60…

A man and lady had been married for over sixty years. They’d shared everything. They had discussed everything. They had no secrets from one other, except that the little old woman kept a shoe box in the top of her wardrobe that she had warned her husband not to open or inquire about. He hadn’t thought about the box in years, until the old woman became ill and the doctor told her she wouldn’t survive.

In an attempt to settle their problems, the old man took the shoe box and brought it to his wife’s bedside. She agreed that he needed to know what was in the box. When he opened it, he saw two crocheted dolls and a heap of money totaling $10,000. Puzzled, he inquired about the contents. “When we were getting married,” she explained, “my grandmother taught me that the secret to a good marriage was to never argue

She advised me that if I ever became angry with you, I should just be quiet and crochet a doll.” The small old man was so moved that he had to hold back tears. There were only two lovely dolls in the box. He was moved and humbled that she had only been furious with him twice in all her years of living and loving. He nearly burst with joy. “Honey,” he began, “That explains the dolls, but how about all of this money? “Where did it come from?” “Oh,” she replied. “I made that by selling the dolls.”
