Eva Amurri had harsh words for those who called her low-cut wedding attire “scandalous.” Amurri, a lifestyle blogger and the daughter of actress Susan Sarandon and filmmaker Franco Amurri, married chef Ian Hock on Saturday at Windrift Hall in New York’s Hudson Valley. She responded to criticism of her gown choice on Instagram Stories, sharing a photo with her husband from the ceremony. The new bride then shared a close-up of her cleavage from the same photo, with the caption: “Feel free to screenshot this for later,” followed by a kissing emoji.
Her gown was a corseted, strapless, bustier-style gown designed by Kim Kassas for Bridal Reflections in New York City. Amurri told the magazine People: “I wanted to feel sexy but elegant, and I think the dress strikes the perfect balance.”Her cleavage-baring costume was compared to her mother’s decision to wear a low-cut attire while presenting the In Memoriam segment at the 2016 Academy Awards.
Sarandon appeared on the Oscars stage wearing an open, wide-lapel white blazer over a black push-up bra. Piers Morgan then tweeted that Sarandon’s attire for the sad occasion was “horribly inappropriate.”Amurri also took time on Monday to reply to the backlash and deliver a poignant letter following her wedding. Amurri described the day as “magical,” saying that despite the rain, “we were surrounded by so much love.”
It felt like time had stopped for us.”Our families merged into a perfectly imperfect bubble of love and memories.” She continued to address her new spouse and three children, whom she has with her ex-husband, former Los Angeles Galaxy soccer player Kyle Martino. She posted on Instagram, “Ian, Marlowe, Major, and Mateo: I am yours always.”
“There is nothing that makes me happier than belonging to the four of you,” she went on: “And to my magical husband: you are my dearest wish fulfilled. “Forever begins now!!!!!” The couple’s French garden party-themed wedding was understated and intimate. Amurri stated to People, “We wanted to write our own love letters to each other to read as vows, which was very special for us…” We also didn’t have a bridal party besides the kids, which was ideal.”
